From Califormia to Ehu Island, there wasn't much effort in climatizing to a new enviornment.
Nonetheless, things were getting HOT in here!
They were on about the 6th song of their set, the last song of the night, and The Pretty Reckless was just looking hotter and hotter. The crowd was dancing along, enjoying the music they were providing, and everybody was just getting into it. The last song they were playing had this steady beat of the drums and guitar, it sent the base thudding in every chest, even that of the band members. While all three male members of the band were haviing a blast, Ben on guitar, Mark on bass and Jamie on drums, the one who was truly having the time of her life was Evangeline Hopkins, the head liner, aka the singer. for those who knew Evangeline in the slightest, in reality she was constantly emotionless, wearing z blank expression the majority of the time. Bt when she was up on stage... she became a different person. And she relished the feeling of being up on that stage, but it only lasted from the moment she stepped up on stage to the moment she got off. She was never a show off about her singing abilities.
"You are driving me into manic You can’t break me out of my habits I never will be you, I hate that you’re breathing So leave me alone, I’m an addict You never will see it my way I’m draining the light from your day You’re pushing, you’re pushing, I’m pulling you doooown!"
She relished any note she could hold for a prolonged time, and she let her body move along with the music. And that fact alone got a lot of the male audience members excited, since, as usual, she was wearing next to nothing on stage. She wore only a skin-tight black boustiére with thigh-high fishnets, and it matched her nails and black eye make-up. Some people think she wore too much of the stuff, but she liked how she looked with it better than without, and she felt pretty much naked without it anyway. She continued to go along with the last song of the night, stretching it out for as long as she could. And, before she knew it, the song was over. "Baby, spare yourself from all my trouble cause I won’t take your help, I’m not the girl I was I am too far gone for you to bring me back Baby, spare yourself!" And with that, the crowd roared, and she smiled a bit, giving a slight wave, and said into the microphone, "Thank you all so much, we're The Pretty Reckless, look around the island for our posters for our next show. Goodnight!" With that, she made sure the microphone was back in place on the stand, and she and the other band members, when they were ready, got off the stage. Evangeline was backstage only long enough to change into something of a short vest (nothing underneath of course), and a short denim skirt. After reapplying some of her bright red lipstick she was oddly in the mood for just now, she walked into the coub where the usual DJ was just setting things up to start with the music again. Her plans for tonight involved hanging out with the closest thing she had to a friend at this new school. It was odd, she didn't normally take to people that often, but... Dimitri both intrigued and annoyed her in an increasingly interesting way. Plus he had an actual brain behind his pretty face, so it wasn't a challenge to talk to the guy. He wasn't quite as overly-logical as others she had met at other schools who were going into medicine in the future like her, but that hardly mattered. He was pleasant enough company for her, and she moved to take a seat at the bar, where she'd agreed to meet him when they'd originally made plans to meet here at the nightclub. i don't know why you ever would lie to me, he wasn't into the party scene, well, that's what dimitri had told him self. more and more he was finding himself mixed within a stumbling crowd filled to the brim with fruity drinks and bar food. not the best combination, but the club was big enough for him to filter through the system safely. though now, dimitri wasn't pinned on the dance floor, but sitting quietly at one of the bars across from the stage. dimitri had his back and elbows pressed against the bar, as he sat with a cold beer in one hand observing the crowd.
just one.
it was an issue, his drinking because once he started only a few things could stop him. passing out, being dragged into the back room with a lady, or running out of money. the promise wasn't to anyone but himself. the promise that if he couldn't control the compulsive beast, he would abstain from the consumption entirely. he couldn't end up like his father, dispirited and wrapped violently around a pole at 3 am. mark levin was never a happy man in the first place because of the sad glutton. dimitri couldn't do that. he was an adult, but he still didn't want his family getting ear that their son and brother committed suicide by being a fool and getting behind the wheel.
just one.
dimitri wasn't here for himself though, he was waiting to see miss. evangeline hopkins sing her soul and heart out behind that tiny little microphone. dimitri glanced at his beer, and then his silver rolex watch he always dawned. the idea of one beer went out the window as he saw he could fit in another in the time frame he expected to be there. dimitri tilted the bottle up right as her band walked up on stage, his eye caught by the pretty little bird stepping up by her keyboard. the scanty black dress and legs up to her neck didn't help how his eyes were fixated upon her. was it the atmosphere? the beer? or maybe how evangeline transformed from the humdrum tone of a robot, to a passionate, fiery woman on stage.
dimitri set the beer on the bar behind him, parting eyes away from the stage for a moment to catch his bearings. as evangeline began the first stage, he stood up and straightened out his gray jacket slipped over a slick white shirt and dark-washed gray jeans. he didn't want to endanger himself in the crowd in front of the stage, so dimitri just stood against the bar, tempted for that next beer and that pretty black dress.
After a short bit when the band left the stage, he spotted Evangeline with his black bedroom eyes approaching him in her new get up. It was a tad bit more modest, but just as sultry as she was on stage. And those lips. Those red, red, red lips. "Brilliant show, love." He called out, loud enough for the pretty girl to hear as he leaned up against the bar counter.
like i'm a little untrusting

Evangeline hadn't even been sitting at the bar long enough to order her first drink of the night, and she was welcomed by Dimitri's presence. She would be a complete two-faced liar if she told a soul that she wasn't attracted to him. After all, just looking at the guy, she was surprised he minded drawing so much attention to his natural good looks. However, with living for it for 20 years, he was probably used to it at this point. He leaned up against the bar, right next to her, "Brilliant show, love."
he said to her, and she smirked, remembering that his alluring english accent perfectly matched his rugged yet formal persona. Normally Evangeline didn't bother so much time with thinking about anybody's appeaqrance, especially a guy. Tonight, however, she found herself feeling a little bit out of place... what a normal girl would call 'frisky' or 'flirty', though she didn't know those terms well enough to label herself as either one. "Why hello there!" she said to him in a mock-cheerful greeting, as if she was completely surprised to see him there, though she didn't let her face envelope the mocking signs of faux-surprise. She just didn't want to put that kind of effort in, she never did. "Seems you're already ahead of me" she remarked, nodding towards the bottle of beer he was holding in his hand. Before she gave Dimitri another smidgen of attention, she decided to begin catching up to him. Turning towards the bartender, she told him, "One shot of vodka, please.". While she hadn't just met Dimitri here tonight, she didn't know him quite well enough just yet to know about his history with alcohol. If she did know, she might just stick to beer instead of tempting him further with the idea of her having to catch up to him. She then swiveled in her bar seat towards her handsome friend, looking up at him with her usual expression. When he'd complimented her on ehr performance, it just took this single look to see that he had no reason to be lying to her. "Glad that you could make it. Thought you might just slip in for the last song and would pretend to have been here the whole time." It was then that the bartender brought her shot over, and she downed it pretty quickly. For her first drink of the night, it had that pleasant kind of burn that told her that the night was just getting started. Glancing over at the bartender again, she told him, "Thanks for that, and I'll just have whatever he's having from now on.". Taking another look at her friend who was still leaning against the bar, she gestured towards the empty seat on the right of her, since she was sitting at the quieter end of the bar, and told him, "Relax, stay a while." [/blockquote][/blockquote] Dimitri ---Tags *Poke* ---Notes The song is 'Panic' by The Pretty Reckless. it was ever so tempting to run his eyes up those mile long legs, but if he made it anymore obvious he might as well just mounted her then and there. it was strange, evangeline's looks were almost the complete opposite than what he would normally swing for…but something about this woman was simply alluring. whether it be the scanty choice of outfits worn on stage, or those god damn legs, he was attracted to it. she was intelligent and feisty in a stoic and blonde package. of all the things about her, dimitri was enraptured by the cherry lips she oh so seductively laced with smirks. though she always tended to have that smug look on her face, the alcohol and makeup sent those extra sparks up his spine.
it made him feel a little uneasy, seeing her order that shot of vodka. dimitri swirled the bottle of beer around in his hand, thinking that he would just need to stick with that if he wanted to stay out of trouble. though man, he was craving a white russian..or a shot of bailey's irish cream. now that he began to think about it, every single bottle of alcohol behind the counter looked amazing. it was a tease to be here. to be with this woman, and to be drinking this bottle.
"glad that you could make it. thought you might just slip in for the last song and would pretend to have been here the whole time." dimitri chuckled, and took a swig from his bottle. "you know, that's an awesome idea. i'm disappointed i didn't think of it first." he said, feigning a sense of excitement. another sip, and he was looking over the bottle towards evangeline, her vampy expression from up on the stage melted back down into her usual, lackluster one. she turned towards the bar to take her shot, and then ordered a simple beer. so maybe it wouldn't be too much of a temptation to drink too much tonight. dimitri joined her at the bar, and ordered himself another beer. "you know, i would give up those dreams of being a doctor and just go for getting a record deal. that's a hell of a lot more satisfying."

If she wasn’t on her first drink of the night and had already had a good number inside her, burning away at her chest, then she might have perhaps been a little unobservant. However, her killer instinct was not currently impaired and she sensed that there was a slight aura of discomfort being generated from Dimitri, though she couldn’t put a finger on the cause. She decided to hold back from interrogating him about it for now. When she desperately wanted to know, she knew that her usual overwhelming sense of curiosity would take over and she’d inevitably try to find out. With regard to what she had said about being glad that he’d attended the whole show and hadn’t just made something up and come during the last song, he replied by saying, "you know, that's an awesome idea. i'm disappointed i didn't think of it first." All Evangeline contributed towards that was a quick roll of the eyes, one of her usual traits.
Taking a swig from the beer she’d received from the bartender, she swivelled a bit more to face Dimitri, her legs crossed in front of her, and while her fingers were delicately draped around the neck of the bottle, she leaned a tad bit closer so she could hear Dimitri speaking over the loud music that had begun to be played by the club’s usual DJ. "you know, i would give up those dreams of being a doctor and just go for getting a record deal. that's a hell of a lot more satisfying."
Smirking again, she sat up a bit straighter on her bar stool and replied to him. ”Meh, maybe if I were you. I’ve been set on going to medical school and becoming a doctor for pretty much my entire life. This,” she said, gesturing behind her, towards where the empty performance stage now was, next to where the DJ was set up. ”is just a way for me to kill time, really.” Another sip from her bottle, and she leaned back and relaxed a little more in her seat. She knew that the fact that the band was doing well was an incredible feat for her uncle Ben, and The Pretty Reckless was his pride and joy now. Though when he first asked Evangeline to do this, she’d made it clear that she would only go along with it until she was ready to go to medical school, or until she needed to drop out of the band for whatever reason, so when that day come, there wasn’t going to be any hard feelings. So since this wouldn’t be a permanent position, she knew better than to get too attached to the attention and being under a spotlight. ”I’m sure you’ll appreciate knowing a rich doctor with a successful practice when the time comes when you need one." she continued to say, smirking again and brushing some of her blonde hair away from her face and behind her ear. One thing was for certain, she would most likely be making a lot more money with her own practice than trying to make it as a rock star. She’d never mention that to her uncle, but it was one of the many perks to her future career. She’d have stability and security, something her father had always pushed as being extremely important. ”is just a way for me to kill time, really.” dimitri started at a low chuckle, then to a laugh. "killing time?" he said in-between his laughs. dropping everything to go to an art school in the middle of the ocean, no other courses involved was just a way to kill time? "honestly you're going to have to repeat some sort of a highschool. choir 101 isn't landing you an any university for medical studies." he said in a toned down 'matter of factly'. dimitri brought the beer to his lips, and took a sip. almost nothing was better than a cold beer, even though he grew up drinking it warm. it was oddly more refreshing, and he would admit it.
"people come to this school with aspirations to acclaim fame and such." he added, motioning his hands out in front of him like a starburst. He wasn't exactly here to try and become a famous movie actor, but the notion was pleasant. He was perfectly content being a stage actor for the rest of his life, he had other ideas to fall back to...like cooking. Dimitri's other passion, probably as big as acting, would be for cooking. He always tended to smell like spices and cigarettes, it was well associated with him. That, or the mango-yogurt smell of shampoo and conditioner he used in the shower. ”i’m sure you’ll appreciate knowing a rich doctor with a successful practice when the time comes when you need one."" dimitri laughed onceagain, and leaned back into the bar like he had been before.
"You're rather sure of yourself, aren't you? Besides, who says I trust your herbs over the other bloke's scientifically proven medicine?" He added, just to mess with her. His own mother was very familiar with natural remedies, and he respected them because the ones his mother tried on him always seemed to work. It just amused him to see her react so cross with him and those ignorant words. Dimitri laid out his very sexy smirk and waited for her quick reaction.

Dimitri, almost immediately, started laughing at her, and she had pretty much expected this reaction from him anyway. After all, it was a pretty weird idea, to be attending a music academy on Ehu island as a way to kill time. It was pretty much unheard of, but Evangeline still had logic to make sense of her situation. "killing time? honestly you're going to have to repeat some sort of a high school. choir 101 isn't landing you an any university for medical studies.”
She nodded her head, as she expected something of a similar response from him. It was what Zane had asked her about when she first told him that she was following him to Bousche Academy. ”Honestly, I could’ve attended an Ivy league school and gotten into a medical program this year if I’d wanted to, my grades were that impressive. Even with deferring here for a few years, I’m not worried about getting into a medical program when the time comes.”. It would be very un-Evangeline-like if she hadn’t thought all this through, after all, so of course there was an exit strategy. And Dimitri seemed to be in a mood to tease her a bit more; deciding to bug her about what she’d said with regard to him wanting to visit her when she was officially an acclaimed doctor with a successful practice. He didn’t miss a beat and went on to say, "You're rather sure of yourself, aren't you? Besides, who says I trust your herbs over the other bloke's scientifically proven medicine?" She rolled her eyes, as a classic trait of hers, and gave him a light whack on the shoulder before taking another sip of her beer. Still relaxing in her seat, she said, ”Oh please, I’m not going to be sticking to natural medicines for the majority of my career, I’ll be using western medicines as well. I’ll just have a second option if I don’t want to prescribe something expensive and with a low chance of actually curing the person. And by the way, don’t badmouth it until you try it, everything I’ve made for myself and others has worked like a charm.” She took a bigger swig of her beer here, enjoying the slight burn she still had in her chest ever since that first shot of vodka. She dangled the bottle over the counter with her finger tips while she leaned over with her elbow on the counter, re-crossing her legs, still facing Dimitri. As she faced him she posed a question towards him, asking, ”So, up for a few more of these while we’re here? I didn’t think much beyond meeting you here tonight, so as for the rest of the evening’s entertainment, I haven’t a clue.” With that, she glanced behind her, towards the other people, all dancing and grinding against each other on the dance floor. They were at a night club, so there wasn’t a shortage of activities they could partake in for the evening, so she doubted the two of them would bore themselves that easily. Currently, Evangeline was entertained just by looking up at the alluring smirk Dimitri was displaying towards her. Sometimes she was quite glad that he was more than easy on the eyes. "honestly, i could’ve attended an ivy league school…." she began, cocky as ever. dimitri would have listened to her a bit closer if it wasn't for the fact that he was well aware that she was some sort of 'genius prodigy' child. it didn't impress him one bit. honestly, he found her little rant a little useless, but oh well. dimitri wasn't too concerned about her future at the moment, nor his, but instead to just have a night off from improve, and plays, and british literature. after another sip of beer, he directed his exact attention to her, trying to keep his charcoal eyes rapt on her own, and not those cherry lips.
red lips was what made dimitri notice a girl the quickest. it was a perk…red lipstick, was elegant, sexy, and so very alluring. he could kind of get a hint of the girls personality from it too. those bright reds tended to always belong to girls with a much brighter personality, and deep burgundies meant someone much more refined. there were always exceptions, but dimitri figured out that his way of thinking was rather accurate.
”so, up for a few more of these while we’re here? i didn’t think much beyond meeting you here tonight, so as for the rest of the evening’s entertainment, i haven’t a clue.” drinking enough to no longer control his body wasn't the smartest idea…dimitri tended to get a little 'frisky' after a few too many. but he would have no issue drinking slowly..while evangeline chugged as many as she wanted down. either way, dimitri honestly was beginning to receive the vibe that either way something was going to happen tonight. whether it be him carrying out evangeline in a drunken heap towards his apartment, or them completely destroying the town, he had an idea that she wasn't looking for 'just a night at the bar'. "no clue eh?" he began, turning his head to the side to scratch his jawbone near his ear. "well, we could sit here and enjoy the pure ambiance or…" he paused, his words rolling off his tongue sarcastically. the next band had begun to play, and the entire dancefloor was shaking with drunken slobs and fools. and there was no way dimitri was going out there and dancing.
