it really depends on the season. mal doesn’t really have a set style with her clothing; she wears what is comfortable even if that means tens of layers or nothing at all. she is comfortable with her body and isn’t afraid to flaunt was she’s got.
mal’s hair is usually styled into messy curls and her make up always has a darker theme to it. she’s definitely a red lipstick girl, she’s rarely ever seen without it on. she’s not high maintenance wardrobe-wise, but she doesn’t mind looking it.

straight up, as fair warning it should be mentioned that mal is bipolar. half of the time she can seem pretty laid back and carefree, but the other half she can be rude and cynical. she’s generally a lovely person, but it takes a lot of getting to know her to really realise her potential.
most people who just meet her receive either flirtation or ignorance from her, which puts across straight away that she thinks she’s better than people. this, in most cases, really isn’t true.
really, she’s got absolutely no idea. she’s naïve and vulnerable in her beliefs so she is immediately defensive. she rarely ever acts her age so most people treat her as if she were younger than she actually is, unless it's work related most of the time she doesn't mind. once people have gotten past her rather disconcerting front, they generally come to realise that she’s a sweet girl who’s capable of defending herself physically and verbally, but hardly mentally.
for most people, mal’s crazy. with her split personalities and the way she tends to ramble on about nonsensical things, she doesn’t give a really approachable air. she’s prone to emotional breakdowns but would rather handle her problems herself. she won’t go looking for attention for things like that. give her a box of confetti or a bubble pipe though and you’ll never get rid of her.
as previously stated, mal is perfectly aware of how she looks, and without being stick thin or super tall, she knows her curves are dead sexy. the problem is though, that she doesn’t really know how to put that to good use half of the time. her split personalities don’t really help as one shows experience and the other shows definite signs of naivety and inexperience with intimacies.

brought up on musicals and old films, mallorie jane chevalier was always a dramatic child. she would recite long spiels of dialogue from many a movie at any situation she could manage. her parents’ friends adored her, but their children and the children that got to know mal in school and around the neighbourhood weren’t nearly as impressed. they had come to realise that outside of a social circle, mal was distant and cold. she would avoid almost all physical contact and refuse to join in on group activities and discussions, and resorted to throwing tantrums and violence when people tried to persuade her to do otherwise.
being born a healthy child, her parents didn’t think to first suspect split personalities and assumed straight away that she was just a disruptive child. the problem was though, that whenever she was brought back to her calm state, she could never recollect the thoughts that trailed to the emotions she displayed. as mal’s adoptive parents, maurice and rosie had gotten in contact with the agency and asked for any information on drug use from mal’s biological parents but the information wasn’t received.
after seeing a doctor, mal was diagnosed with some features of dissociative identity disorder. her personalities were out of wack. she never did a full switch to her knowledge, she was always able to remember precisely what she was doing, just never remember the reasons or thoughts behind it.
it also appeared that the disruptive personality was the one more likely to receive more information and retain it. the calmer personality was more naïve and when the personalities didn’t blend and were completely separate on occasions, mal couldn’t remember the information the other one had taken in. the calm personality knew nothing about sex but loved the idea of being intimate with people, the disruptive personality knew about it but was terrified of personal contact.
it was within this that mal’s parents realised that art was the only way to get mal to focus evenly and channel the two personalities into a practically normal form. encouraging her to continue with art throughout her schooling was easy, she’d already found a love for film and theatre so they let her carry the idea herself and helped her with anything they could.
by her own means, mal decided on bouscher academy to continue her education.
