zee's seventeen and in her second year. she's likes it here, since it far away from her mother. her parents are referred to as "mom & navy blue sheets." her mom's constantly telling her that was a mistake & is unwanted. zaryn would do anything to be a famous singer; she's been working on putting music up on youtube; you might have seen it if you've been surfing the web lately. and she's good.
people know her as the second-year bitch, the one with the insanely curly blonde hair, who always wears a dress and cowboy boots. she isn't generally a nice person. she acts like it sometimes; playing pretend was always one of her favourite things to do as a kid. but the zaryn underneath, the zaryn who will come out to play if you piss her off... that's a zaryn that you should be a little afraid of. she'll do anything to get her revenge, including anything from dumping a beer over your head to rhyming your name with something insulting and putting it in song. mainly, she tries not to care because she's afraid.
so, zaryn is going to need some friends -- people who are actually her friends (they will need to be able to put up with her bitchiness sometimes) and people who are half-friends (she'll have a lot of those). some of zee's friends who are photography majors get her to model for them sometimes. enemies could be haters and people who she actually dislikes. she makes a point of not caring if people don't like her, but if she dislikes them, that's another story. a lot of people think she's weird because of her style and the whole youtube thing; most people find that loser-ish, especially the cheetahs. zaryn will also need some lovers; people who have screwed things up who can stumble across one of her videos and realize that one of the songs is about them would be extremely useful. she's about to get back together with her ex, carson, and they're so dysfunctional, it's cute.

jonathan is an eighteen-year-old third year student at bouscher. he is majoring in art and minoring in theater. if you don't know him (which you probably do, because he's that type of guy everyone's drawn to, and he doesn't make enemies easily), you probably know his older sister, hayley -- she's in her fourth year and she's a dancer and has always been popular.
he's sort of damaged goods; right before his first year here, his mom and dad died in a car accident involving the car going off the road, into the river, during a rainstorm. jonathan and hayley moved three blocks away from their family's old loft to live with their mother's sister, stacey, who's twenty-seven and not really parental material. the book store that they used to live above and own was sold and turned into a pawn shop, and jon now works in beckman's bookstore, across town. and then, during jon's first year, he fell in love with this girl named allie; she was visiting from new york during spring break. two short weeks, and then they kept in touch, planning to see each other in the summer. but she died in a car accident, too. coincidence? yes, but jon doesn't seem to think so. cars, he says, have it in for him. he's never going to sit in one again.
as he's one of those guys that's sort of popular without meaning to be -- quiet a lot of the time, and he isn't really interested in teenager things like partying and stuff -- he makes friends really easily and it's nearly impossible to dislike him or make him dislike you. he always tries to find good things about the people around him, and that makes it hard for him to make any enemies. lately, he's been shutting people out and trying not to put himself out there so he won't get hurt, and he's fighting not to let anyone in, especially in the way of lovers. i'm looking for a girl to maybe change that, but don't tell him.

at sixteen, korinne is in the middle of her first year majoring in dance and minoring in french here at bouscher. she only just transferred to this school right after christmas break, so it's unlikely that you really know her all that well. basically, what people know about her is that she's from new york city; her dad's steven haartner, a famous broadway director; and her mother is jennifer haartner, a famous fashion designer. this girl's always had a lot of money -- she is spoiled and a bit shallow, and doesn't really tend to care all that much about other people. korinne is used to getting what she wants, and she won't stop until she gets it.
the other thing that people know about her, it seems, is why she's on ehu island. most people don't know the full story -- they only seem to know that she's here to get revenge on her ex-boyfriend, arturo nevés. what the rest of the student body doesn't know is that it's not just revenge for breaking up with her; she's pissed about that, clearly, but she's more looking for revenge for him almost killing her in a sailing accident. if anyone has heard any rumours about arturo nevés almost killing korinne haartner, they aren't likely to believe it.
in all honesty, the girl isn't going to have all that many friends, or at least not real ones. the only reasons she has for making friends with anybody is to use them for something, or because she's bored. she likes to have people that like her, so mostly she'll be trying to be nice to the popular people, and she might enjoy having some other students to follow her around and try to be her, because she's like that. if you have a thing against shallow little bitches, you'll probably be an enemy of kor's. she can be fake and shallow a lot of the time, and she's very stubborn and will never give in. she's not opposed to blackmailing people and spreading rumours to get what she wants. she's also a little bit full of herself; she knows that she's pretty and a really good dancer, and you can often find her thinking about how she's 'better' than others. in the way of lovers, kor doesn't think she needs anyone; her only real boyfriend was arturo, and that experience didn't end well. but she'll want to use some guys to make him jealous of what he's missing out on and things like that, so a couple of flings are necessary. at some point, she'll probably fall in love with one of the guys she's trying to use against arturo, and he can change her like in every good movie.
