{ ramilda sat in the sand beside her pink bike planted in the ground at richardson's beach. her yappy little mutt, keith richards, was running around her, having just jumped out of the bike's basket. a pair of cheetah printed skim boards were bungee corded to the back of her bike. ramilda had big plans for the day. she'd had lunch with campus hottie, derrick hirsch, last week or so and thought he was a pretty cool guy, but a little too mellow for her taste (which was so trusting,) so ramilda had decided to declare the day a day for a beachventure.
ramilda had just bought a pair of ombre aviators and took their glory as a sign that she should take derrick skim boarding for the day. of course ramilda wanted to go surfing, but let's face it. she was no good and was not socially prepared for everyone/anyone to figure that little secret out. "c'mere keef keef" ramilda cliked her tongue at her puppy and fed her the remaining bits of the mango ramilda had been munching on while on the remote-ish beach. she felt lucky that the coast wasn't all to crowded today. maybe because it was a school day, whoops. college visits.
"derrick, baby cheetah, where are you?!" ramilda said this much too loudly, made clear by the passer bys who sneered at her, with a bit of a groan. but honestly, how annoyed could you be? it's not like chilling on the coast of ehu island with her puppy and some rays was any worse than spanish. ramilda loved spanish but "felt too restricted by the classroom" and therefore made a habit of pulling a beach vs. spanish every monday, wednesday and friday. what a clever girl, eh? but seriously, derrick, where are you? ; )

-- derrick was excited to meet up with ramilda again. he enjoyed her company. they were meeting up at the beach, and she had mentioned something about skim boarding? he was nervous, but anxious to try something new. he hoped she wouldn't laugh at him if he failed miserably. it seemed the only thing he was every good at was ballet. but he really never tried anything else long enough to find out if he was any good. ballet and dancing took up most of his schedule, and the remaining time was either spent working out, or studying.
-- derrick glanced at the clock in his dorm room. he cussed loudly and threw on some clothes and ran out the door and down the hall. he really hated being late, and hoped ramilda wouldn't be too upset. it wasn't like him at all to not keep track of the time. he was still muttering under his breath as he approached the beach. it really upset him to make someone wait. the beach was nice, but he hadn't made much time to visit it often. he made a mental note to definitely get off the campus more...a lot more.
-- he found ramilda easily, since the beach wasn't too crowded and ran up to her. "i'm so sorry. i lost track of time." his german accent was thicker than normal due to his anger at himself. he was surprised he didn't throw in a few german words in there. usually when he was emotional he spoke in german. he didn't even realized it until he got funny stares from people who clearly had no idea at all what he was saying. which was good most times, as he usually threw in a few german-inspired curse words. "i'm sorry...again." derrick apologized.

{ ramilda was sitting around, twiddling her thumbs and making kissy faces at her dog when she heard something along the lines of "sorry i'm late." ramilda looked up to see derrick walking towards her, bits of sand being kicked behind him as he did. that was silly. ramilda loved the elements. derrick apologized for being late once again and ramilda waved her hand in between them, being slightly charmed by his german accent. it made her feel like liza minelli in cabaret. "nonsense, don't worry about it."
ramilda stood up, shaking her hips and wiping the sand off her butt. how silly. she messily ran her hand over keith richard's head, or more like all over her face, and walked to the back of her bike. ramilda quickly untied the boards from the side of her bike. "are you ready for some total madness? well, not really..." ramilda rolled her eyes at herself. "but wait for it, wait for it... we're skim boarding today!" ramilda squealed out of excitement and dropped the boards so she could clap her hands in front of her like a child.
ramilda picked the boards off the ground and handed derrick a teal cheetah printed one while keeping a bright pink one for herself. cauh-uteee, they were matching. ramilda kissed keith aloha, for the moment, and took derrick's hand, instantly running towards the sea. wow, cutest friends ever. ramilda hoped she didn't surprise him too badly. she hadn't even thought of what she was doing when she did it. that is how things always seem to go though.

-- derrick smiled at her as she waved way his apology. "i'm usually not late." he mused, still a little upset at himself. he found it extremely rude and was never happy when someone else was late, especially when the person was late all the time. a small yip brought him back down to earth. "i don't think i have formally been introduced to your little dog." he said grinning and chuckling. he did like dogs, but had never had one of his own, due to the fact his dad was allergic and his mom didn't want the mess. he was too busy to have a dog anyways.
-- ramilda came from around her bike with two boards, which were cheetah print, one teal and one bright pink. of course she kept the pink one thankfully. derrick was sure his puzzled expression wasn't too well hidden. he was kind of nervous to find out what the girl had in mind for them to do today. "eh, sure?" he said hesitantly, not wanting to get himself into anything just yet. she clapped like a girl and derrick laughed. he thought only girls in movies did things like that. the opposite sex never ceased to amaze him.
-- "seriously? i've never been skimboarding before." he felt himself being pulled, and it wasn't too hard to keep up with ramilda's running. his cheeks were probably flushed and he tried no to think about if anyone was staring. not that he minded, he just wasn't used to being pulled around by girls all the time. not that he minded or anything. when they finally stopped running, derrick was still unsure about how this was going to go. "ramilda, i really have no idea how to do this." he said shaking his head, running a hand through his blonde hair.

{ derrick was shaking his head and running his fingers through that beautiful head of hair of his. god, ramilda wished she had that hair! either way, the poor guy looked a little out of sorts, seemingly worried about the whole skim boarding deal. ramilda reached out and squeezed his hand, being surprisingly comforting for her normal get-up-and-go self. "i got you..." she whispered, begging the gods for him to trust her. this would be so much fun if he could just loosen up a little!
ramilda knew his sort. so dedicated to their art that they've spent their youth away, harboring their craft within themselves. ramilda hated to see a smile go to waste. she knew just the trick. "keef keef!" she yelled in a slightly annoying baby voice. her black toy poodle came running towards the two, yapping away and getting adorably wet as the waves splashed up around her. ramilda bent down and picked up the dog, letting keith richards lick all over her face and laughing as she did. "here give derrick a little love..." ramilda said to the dog, handing her over. she turned to derrick, straightening out her bikini top that keith richards had twisted slightly. "i don't think you two have officially met" ramilda laughed as keith richards gave derrick kisses. she hoped he wasn't all too pissed at her for it. sure, dogs and the beach were messy, but messy was fun and it took a little mess to get a laugh some days. seriously, illegally bringing keith richards to bouscher was the greatest idea ramilda ever had.

ooc;; gosh. sorry it took so long
-- derrick was really getting nervous. he didn't do things like these. of course he could do any new dance move, anything at all. but this...was way out of his comfort zone. he really didn't want to make ramilda sad though by not doing it. she clearly loved skim boarding. then he realized how big of a baby he was being. so this wasn't dance. it was about time he pushed himself out of his comfort zone. if he didn't do it now, he certainly never would. he decided he needed to be more adventurous. "i trust you." he told her grinning, forcing the smile. of course his stomach was flipping and flopping.
-- derrick was about to say he needed to sit down to take everything in. especially his drastic change in attitude for the moment when ramilda let out a girly call for her dog. a little black toy poodle came yipping towards them, bounding through the sand. the two obviously had a close bond. derrick could've sworn that you weren't allowed to bring animals to bouscher, but knowing ramilda, even for the short time, he knew she wouldn't really follow this rule.
-- derrick took the dog, who licked all over his face. all he could do was laugh and smile. he was definitely a god person. he didn't even notice himself being covered in sand by the little dog. "she is the cutest thing i have ever seen." derrick said holding her in one arm and scratching her behind the ear lovingly. as son as he got his own place, a dog would be the first thing he would invest in.

{ ramilda's little heart warmed as derrick mouthed "i trust you." ramilda was one of those people who needed to be needed. while entirely irresponsible and idealistic, she had an oddly motherly nature about her and plenty of skewed guidance to offer. having people trust and follow her kind of made ramilda's life. it gave her a sort of purpose. she needed to be that indebted to another person for anything to make sense worth doing.
ramilda clasped her hands together in front of her joyously as keith richards ran up to derrick, slobbering all over him. sure it was a little gross and now he was covered in sand and dog slobber and salt water, but at least he was all covered in that mess while smiling. when derrick exclaimed that keith richards was "the most adorable thing he had ever seen", ramilda knew her work there had been done. "toodles, keffy!" ramilda yelped as derrick set her dog down.
she turned to him. "alright so first things first. with these skim boards you've got to get a massive running start for maximum wreckage. then once you hit the water, just drop it down and jump on. and don't worry if you fall, that's the best part!" ramilda laughed and sprinted off from derrick. "catch me!" she dared him. with one swift movemtn she took her running start and used it to plummet her onto her stomach and into the baby waves that met the shore. derrick would forever owe her for this.

-- derrick couldn't believe he was actually doing this. to his surprise it felt...liberating to be trying something new for once instead of hiding in his shell and just watching other people try new things and have fun. and secretly, he was afraid to fail. what if he wasn't good at this, or he didn't pick it up right away. slowly he was beginning to realize he wasn't going to be good at everything, but he needed to try new things and see for himself. how else would he know if he was any good at skim boarding.
-- ramilda seemed glad that he was getting along with her little toy poodle. "keef keef" as ramilda seemed to call her, was wonderful. 'if she suddenly comes up missing, don't look at me." derrick said playfully. he set the little dog back down gently in the sand. he was slowly working up his courage. derrick just stared at her while she told him to get a huge running start and then just watched as she took off running and dove onto her stomach.
-- he was crazy, all there was too it. but there was no turning back now. he started laughing as he began to run. he really did try to mimic how ramilda did it, but something went wrong. instead of gliding over the waves as ramilda had, the board dug into the sand and he was thrown off from the cheetah print board, and rolled through the sand. derrick just laid there laughing, the waves moving under him, washing most of the sand off. he stood up and spotted ramilda. he walked up to her laughing. "there, i did it." he couldn't wipe the smile off his face even if he tried.

{ ramilda flipped her blonde hair back, to see derrick having followed her, no prisoners. she laughed as he stumbled onto the sand, literally skimming it. it delighted her to see derrick roll over, laughing as sprinkles of waves ran over him. she was such a scorpio in that sense, always searching for power, even it came in the form of being the puppeteer of others' happiness. he stood up, waltzing over to her, "there i did it," he sighed.
ramilda couldn't contain herself, she jumped onto derrick hugging him and whooping and hollering. "ow ow! derrick hirsch, daredevil extraordinaire!" she yelled out at passerbys pointing to derrick and bowing towards him, theatrically, mocking the entire situation. she punched his shoulder, as if they were a pair of fifth grade boys, "seriously, hun, i'm so so proud of you. it was fucking fun, right?" skim boarding wasn't even that extreme, but it definitely took guts to just run into if you had never done it before. "again?" ramilda asked jumping up and down.
this time upon running and 'skimming', ramilda slipped off the front of her board. the board flew behind her as she tumbled down into the white foam of ankle high crashing waves. ow, face plant! she rolled to her side, not minding the waves running up along the side of her face, continuing to wet her hair and her cheek. "holy shit, man." ramilda pushed herself up using one arm, and could feel wet sand mushed onto her left temple. yummy, that was hot. "mmm i love this day!" ramilda shouted, reaching her hands up to derrick, wiggling her fingers, and without words asking him to help her up. he was such a sweet boy and all.

-- he could see the happiness in ramilda's face that he had done it, just dove right in, both literally and metaphorically. and to be honest, he was proud of himself. it wasn't like himself at all to do something like this. he couldn't wipe the grin off his face. derrick began laughing again as ramilda hugged him. he hugged her back and twirled her around.
-- he didn't like the attention and every time ramilda pointed him out to random people walking by, his cheeks would flush a light pink. finally he succumbed to the attention and did a little wave and a bow. she landed a light punch to his shoulder, he barely felt it. "thanks. and it was, i'm glad i did it." he told her honestly.
-- he looked at her eager expression as she jumped up and down. how could you say no. "oh...i don't know." derrick said slowly, teasing her. "oh sure, why not." he finally said grinning. he watched as ramilda took off, taking her turn. derrick couldn't help but laugh as she pulled the same move he did, tumbling over the front of her board. he walked over to her. "me too." when was the last time he had such pure fun. it had been a while. derrick reached out and gently pulled her to her feet.
-- "i'm going to go again." derrick said softly, hoping he wouldn't fall off again. he kind of knew when he did wrong, and he ran through it in his mind. "wish me luck." he said as he took off running, his muscular calves pushing him through the sand. he dropped the board, and leaped onto it, sticking his arms out and catching his balance. he skimmed a few feet over the tiny waves until a big one came and wiped him off his board. once again laughing consumed his body as he stood up and shook his hair like a dog, trying to clear the sand and excess water from it.
-- "this is intense." derrick told ramilda, his cheeks hurting from smiling so much. "i think you've just found yourself a new skim boarding partner." derrick was more than happy that ramilda had invited him today. when the first met, he wasn't sure how well the would get along, as they had two totally different personalities, but she was good for him. she brought him out of his comfort zone, which was the best thing for derrick.
