raised by tree huggers in the redwood forest of humboldt county, california, sage is a flower child. he grew up around a tribe of people called 'amara terra,' a tribe of people who loved the world around them as well as their farm of trees. sage considers the entire tribe of amara terra as family. he spent nearly his entire life around those people.
growing up, sage didn't receive any form of formal education. the "school" he attended was one for the children from ages four to eighteen. the elders each taught different classes, including arithmetic, folklore, and the history that they could teach. they taught what they knew about the world. they taught how to treat their home, the world, with respect. many of their teachings intertwine with those of the buddha.
the highlights of sage's childhood were the stories and myths his elders told him as they all sat around the campfire. the bloke eventually fell in love with the art of telling stories. he frequently got lost in fictional stories as a child, and began to write stories at an early age.
the nineteen year old appreciates everything that is in nature and everything that is outdoors. he appreciates the beauty and life, and even the ugly and unfortunate in life. he knows how to smile and take the time to appreciate life as it is, rather than life as it should be. with that being said, it should be obvious that sage is an optimist.
sage was raised as a free spirit. though he always had someone in his tribe nearby, from a young age he learned to crawl out of anyone's sight and into the wilderness. he found navigating the forest to be easy, never leaving behind his compass and always leaving behind some kind of track of him. he was raised to know the wilderness and the world around him well. he embraces anything and everything unfamiliar, always hoping for change in his surroundings. he easily gets tired of the familiar, often throwing away hobbies and "favorite spots" in the sherwood forest. sage believes he knows how to speak with nature, and with spirit animals.
at the age of seventeen, sage realized he needed a change of pace from his lifestyle at amara terra. he knew he couldn't go to just any university with his lack of formal education, but sage was more than happy when he found out about bouscher academy of the arts. he applied the school, and at his interview, was accepted immediately. the bloke still doesn't understand technology. his knowledge of the computer is equal to that of a ninety year old. sage constantly relies on others when it comes to projects on the computer, and is currently "boycotting" facebook.
