It is November 2054, it's been long since the wizarding world had anything to fear. Lives are for the most part- normal. Young witches and wizards are sent off to school to learn more about their magic. Stressing over O.W.L.s and N.E.W.T.s and day to day drama that has the tendency to follow children around. Professors going about their day of directing the young minds of said children, watching over them as surrogate parents so to speak. The halls of Hogwarts School of Wizardry and Witchcraft coming alive once again to house hundreds of children. Gryffindors for the brave, Ravenclaw for the clever, Hufflepuff for the loyal, and of course, Slytherin for the cunning. The past had become just that, a piece of history. No longer plaguing the minds of everyday life as it once had. Though the history books spoke volumes of the wars that had brought the wizarding world to it's knees. Not only once, but thrice.
Decades ago, there was a great wizarding war between the sides of good and evil. The Order of the Phoenix taking the role of protecting all of human kind. Muggles and wizards alike. They were led by a powerful and wise wizard by the name of Albus Dumbledore and while he was a great man, he was far from invincible. The fate of the wizarding world was left on the shoulders of a school boy by the name of Harry Potter. Only marked as Voldemort's, the leader of the Death Eaters, because of a failed Killing curse. Voldemort was defeated and for many years the darkness of the wizarding world was kept in Azkaban Prison or graves. However, peace can not last for ever and it was only a matter of time before the seeds that had been first planted by Gellert Grindelwald, spread into the young mind of some poor soul.
Those that had become undeniably famous because of the war; Potter, Weasley, Granger, and even Longbottom, continued on with their lives as planned. Marriages were planned, children were born and raised and for the most part life was simple as could be. The lines continued with not only those named, but pure blooded bigots that had been imprisoned. Names like Malfoy, Dolohov, Mulciber, Lestrange, and Rosier began to reappear in the form of children. Previous surnames of the followers of Lord Voldemort coming to life once more. The children were usually taught just as the families had always. That purebloods were superior to all others. Though with the donning of a new age in the wizarding world things had changed as had the names that were once targeted for particular things such as blood traitor and mud blood.
With Albus Dumbledore, Minerva McGonagall, and Severus Snape long gone to have the role of Headmaster (or Headmistress) it only seemed natural that a new Professor should take the position. However, a mysterious letter had found it's way to the Ministry of Magic. Within the parchment was a single name and a request that this young woman, barely old enough to have been a Professor very long, be the new Headmistress of Hogwarts. Signed by none other than Albus Dumbledore himself. The initial reaction from the Minister of Magic was one that was hardly surprising. Claiming the letter was a fake and there was no possible way that Dumbledore could have known that this young woman would even be born by such a time. Not only that but for him to know her name and how to contact her? It was insane. The only explanation being that the young woman was named in a prophecy and would be needed for the greater good.
Doubts, rumors, and gossip was spread all over the wizarding world regarding the matter. The Ministry had debated for quite awhile and finally agreed after a meeting with the woman that she was quite qualified in her own right. At the same time, however, she had been sent a mysterious letter of her own by the same man. A prophecy and note from the great wizard scribbled inside with vanishing ink. Speaking of things that were to come and that she would be the new leader of a great good to chase off the darkness once more. Seeing as most prophecies were never very revealing she did as the letter requested and took the position as Headmistress of Hogwarts School of Wizardry and Witchcraft.
With the 'good' rising once again within the folds of the wizarding world, it only seemed natural that a darkness would seem to grow as well. Rather than in the form of a Durmstang outcast as Gellert Grindelwald or a halfblood elitist as Tom Riddle (Lord Voldemort), it came in the visage of two young boys. Their own great-great grandfather part of the very force that had brought the world to it's knees, the Death Eaters. The eldest, more or less the visionary of the two, had long began making connections and "groupies" the moment he stepped on the Hogwarts Express. He had already began to have a small group of 'friends' or followers intrigued by his plans to not only continue what his predecessors before him failed at, but to perfect the idea as well. It was only a matter of time before the two sides butted heads.
