jane's coloring and complexion is what sets her apart from other girls. she was blessed with bare pores and is the envy of the eyes of most due to her constant outfit of a porcelain-like face. jane complains a ridiculous amount about wishing she had freckles, however, which only proves she's still a teenage girl. she has bright blue eyes and feathery lashes that are always being trampled on by her thick, dark brown, fringe. her hair is dark and full of volume, but can often come out looking a little messy and windblown. surprisingly, jane pays little attention to this common mishap.
jane's style is very particular. she wears a hell of a lot of purple. she wears a lot of lipstick and kitten heels. jane loves thick, liquid eyeliner and bouffants. she is always emphasizing her waist and girlish figure with high waisted skirts, flouncy dresses and belts. jane is fairly tall and loves her legs, often making them the highlight of her outfit. jane is a total blast from the past and loves to wear old clothes and dress like an old movie star. she loves girlish details, any indicators of nature and any style older than she is.

-- jane is a born and raised sophisticate. on halloween, instead of using it as an excuse to dress in seran wrap, she throws on some slingbacks and comes as sexy blair waldorf. she always wears lipstick and never forgets to enunciate her waist. her personality is drawn from a subdued nature, honesty, and class. she never goes out of the way to cause too much of a stir and rarely blurts things out or drinks too much before thinking it out. while she isn't impulsive or reckless, jane is still a nineteen year old. she likes to mix up cocktails and go out dancing and meet new boys just as much as anyone else does. she just makes sure she can remember it all and doesn't need to come up with anymore than three excuses per night.

-- jane loves a challenge. she's nauseatingly competitive and will do what it takes for a thrill. she was raised upon the notion that nothing in life is handed to you, and believes that that which is valued as been earned. thus, jane hates being handed things and thrives off of the challenge of chasing something unattainable, whether it be a job, a boy or a dream. being a taurus, jane's sensuality often gets the best of her and she falls head over heels for any sort of mystery or secret. she gossips far too much and tends to read into things more than ever necessary. living addicted to the rush of a mystery leaves jane rather superstitious and into conspiracy theories.

other information ,, jane's mother was imprisoned for the assisted suicide of her father when she was very young. she has always lived with her grandmother, or 'gran', and now holds a moderate relationship with her mother.

jane barlow was born on may seventh in montreal, quebec to an already tumultuous couple commonly referred to as abbister. her father worked as a miner outside of town and her mother was a dreamlike sculptor who kept at home. neither parent was very happy and jane's arrival only changed their state of being temporarily. when she was only three years old, jane's mother assisted her father in commiting suicide. she shot him and then attempted to shoot herself, but was rushed to the hospital before she could lose enough blood. after recovery her mother was imprisoned in a mental ward for life. jane then lived alone with her grandmother, adena, whose home she'd been raised in with her mother before.

jane was virtually unaffected by her parents' tragedy. initially she was too young to fully understand, but as she grew older she simply worked through it alone and handled the situation very maturely, always taking it for what it was. living with adena gave jane plenty of things to take her mind off of her grief. adena, a retired archaeologist, always encouraged jane's creativity and curiousity and was a patron in terms of theatre camps, dance lessons and a lifestyle that embraced culture. it was under adena's guidance that jane began to attend heathington academy of the arts in hertfordshire when she was fifteen.

at heathington, jane focused in on theatre work and the study if sculpture. she had just begun to reconcile with her mother and visited her during every travel back home. she used sculpture as a medium to feel closer to abigail, but was not necessarily passionate about it. she focused on theatre because it was fun and acting made adjusting to life in england much easier than it would have been otherwise.

her time spent at heathington, while a whirlwind of experiences that truly forced jane to grow up, was time spent well. here, she had her first boyfriend, developed and overcame a drug dependency and encountered friends her own age for the first time. unfortunately, her stay at heathington lasted all of two years. after the birth of a close friend's baby, booger, life started to unravel and jane felt the need to throw in her "cash kennedy for president" t-shirt and return to montreal.

jane stayed with adena for a little under a year and spent a good deal of time traveling and building a relationship with her mother. she formed a musical partnership with a new friend, dove back into ballet instruction and rediscovered her freshest talents yet. at the end of last year she applied for the ballet program at bouscher academy of the arts, and took a chance by moving to the island to pursue her career in ballet and musicianship. the decision was based on her nostalgia from heathington and her requirement and longing for structure in her life.

now, at nineteen jane is a third year at bouscher with a focus in dance. a much more stable character in present tense than past, jane is doing well. she is very disciplined and open to life with her optimistic nature and keeps in close touch with adena and her mother, yet has never tried to reconcile her relationships with anyone from bouscher.
