rather tall and lanky, malcom stands at about 6’1”, 6’2”. he did local sports and the sort, especially volleyball during the summers, but mainly just because they were fun, they did keep him in pretty good shape though. his green eyes almost look blue in some lights, and his hair does gain more blonde during the summer months, but for the most part he just is your typical guy. some of his friends joke that he can pull off the same face as chandler from friends, but he doesn’t really see it, although he does have a face that comes in handy in the bar that he works at. if he wants, he can appear to be the nicest, cutest guy you’ll find, but when a fight breaks out, he toughens up pretty quickly.

stubborn: when necessary, he digs his heels in on things. sometimes, this is a good thing, he will fight for one cause or another, but other times it is his downfall. he doesn’t know when to not dig his heels in and he ends up getting himself into a grave that he can’t climb his way out of.

artistic: while yes, he does play the piano and fiddle around on guitar, he can also draw. nothing professional or even enough to get him in as an art major, but he can draw. on top of that, he just has an eye for art, he knows what kind of art or painting or anything would look good in a certain space, and things of that nature. all simply because he grew up on ehu.

goofy: when you know him, you will find he is truly very goofy. he’ll make remarks that just make you want to laugh, or he’ll pull out some tomatos or limes and start to juggle. . . anything to bring a smile to someone’s face.

defensive: especially when he cares about someone, he will get very defensive, very quickly. people tend to point out flaws when they feel trapped, and he brings up the fences around his quicker than you can blink. but this also covers the fact that he is protective of those he cares about, if they’re in danger, he will not hesitate to throw himself in front of said danger.

islander: the relaxed air, the ability not to rush around, the whole ‘we’ll get there when we get there’ type of personality. . . yep, he is definitely an islander.

born and raised on ehu island, malcom obviously was exposed to a wide variety of music and arts, he learned how to play the piano when he was only five, with the dream to go to bouscher when he turned sixteen. his parents were well known on the island itself, his father being a lawyer and his mother a teacher. they took very good care of their only son, keeping him out of fights with his two sisters, melody and arya, both of whom were silly girls who actually started the whole family dinner night.

malcom steadily grew more and more involved in the community, playing on various club sports, doing community service here and there, anything. he just loved the island. but when he was eight, he met a local family’s niece. ryan berkley, a bright girl who was two years younger than him, she would visit during the summers, and he was at least kind of around her age, they would play, go to the beach, things of the sort. and as they grew older, their adventures grew longer and the distance farther.

when he was sixteen, he got into bouscher as a music major, piano of course. it was like a dream come true, but his aspirations had grown, he was taking cooking classes, learning from various islanders, anything. throwing all of his energy into piano during the school year, it left a lot of funner energies left over during the summer. he would play volleyball, he would surf, pretty much do all sorts of random summer island activities, but he always made sure to save time for his best friend; ryan. she had basically become part of the family, coming to family dinner occasionally, hanging out with him more often than not. . . he had a best friend for three months out of the year.

the years continued, he got a job at one of the local bars, a janitor, but it was still better than nothing. they told him that when he turned eighteen he could at least be the bouncer. the summer that that happened though, something clicked, ryan was no longer the younger girl who hung out with him or the silly friend, but someone with the potential to be quite a bit more. he fell in love with the sixteen year old. he took her out on some dates, wooed her, tried to win her over, but at the end of the summer, she had to leave, and he went back to school, the knowledge that she would be back the following summer a very good comfort.

it went on like that for two summers, he turned twenty, and she eighteen, and that’s when something went wrong, there was a massive argument and she stormed out, leaving him alone and reeling. and still hopelessly in love with her. he turned twenty-one at the beginning of the year, was finally able to work in the bar, as the bartender. he got his license and everything, his diploma from bouscher on the wall of his apartment.
