now that we know your name, let's get to other basics. why did your parents name you that? is there any big significance to your name?

"well, nyx means night in greek. and i'm greek, so it's like... the perfect name for me. it's also really pretty. so it fits. okay, thats a lie. i actually have no idea why i was named the way i was named. i guess i just looked like a nyx. it's a different name, so i've never had to worry about being mistakened for anyone else! my middle name is calias, which was my grandmothers name though. so that one has some significance"

interesting. how about your age? how old are you? what year are you?

" i'm nineteen years old, and in year four"

oh, that's nice. i have a lot of memories from that year. so, where were you born? when were you born? and, where are you coming from?

" i was both in athens greece. it's the msot beautiful place in the entire world. i seriously love my home. i lived there until i was eight, and then my dad got a new job and we moved to london, england which is where i'm coming from. london wasn't bad. i met rodanthe there, so i guess it had some plusses! and good shopping. i can't forget that" .

ah, that sounds like a lovely place! what do you hope to major in at bouscher? how did you start dabbling in that art?

"i major in dance. specifically ballet. i've been doing it since i was three years old. before my mother met my dad, she was a dancer in the russian ballet and so she always wanted me in dance. she died when i was four, but my dad kept taking me to my lessons and i've just always stuck with it" .

what a lovely story! so, who do people say you look like?

i see the resemblance! so, tell me about at least ten things you absolutely love.

ballet, cuddling, running, kissing, holding hands, lord of the rings, green and yellow skittles, cupcakes, boys, girls .

and, how about at least ten things quite the opposite? what do you dislike?

confrontation, yelling, rejection, snow, soup, step-mother, care bears, elmo, the dark, red wine .

oh, i can relate. well, what are some of your secrets, dreams, and fears?

"well i'm in llove with my best friend. i guess thats not really a secret... but it's something that not everyone would know. i don't broadcast it because it's complicated. a real secret is that whenever i go to greece, i go to my moms grave. i don't even tell my dad about it. i get flowers delivered weekly and everything. a dream would be to teach at julluiard, and a fear is getting my heart broken".

how unique! well, let's go further into it. what are you like?

"thats such a hard question... i mean, not really. but you know. who honestly likes talking about themselves tons and tons? not me. i feel self centered when i do so! so, um. hi i'm nyx. i hate to get in arguements. i really tense up when i feel confrontation coming. and i cry really easily. i guess you could say i'm sensitive when it comes to emotions. i like when everyone is happy. i like to be physically close to people, when i say that i mean that i like holding hands and cuddling, and showing how i feel. i'm better with actions than i am with words. i guess i'm creative, i mean i like choreography and stuff like that. i'm kind of childish sometimes, i mean, i like getting my way and i'm used to it. i also don't like things that areoverly complicated. everything should just be simple. i'm easily convinced of things, and i hate to make people sad. i trust people really easily, and first impressions are super important for me. i generally like most people and i hate being alone, so i like to have lots of friends to text and have visit me and things like that. i'm a really outgoing person too, i rarely get shy and i have a lot of confidence. self esteem too. i know i'm pretty, and when people call me ugly or fat or anything like that i don't really let it effect me. can you also tell that my thoughts are always all over the place? i get sidetracked so easily... " .

you are quite the character! well, can you tell me about your history?

"i was born in athens greece nineteen years ago. my parents had such a cute love story. but this is my history and not theirs so i'm not getting into it today. anyway, i was born in greece and life was pretty good i guess. i don't remember when i was that little. my mom died when i was four. she had brain cancer, i remember going to her funeral but i don't remember much else. i know my dad was really sad for a really long time and my grandmother came and lived with us for awhile. i remember that because they used to argue over whether or not i could go back to ballet. i wanted to, but i don't think my dad wanted me to until my grandmother talked sense into him. it felt like she lived there forever, but after i started school my dad went back to work and she went back home. my dad got a job with the embassy in london when i was eight years old and we moved there. i hated switching schools and dance academies and making new friends, but i met queenie right after i moved there. life was fairly normal. i had a best friend and my dad and i loved everything, and then he met a new lady. they got married when i was ten and we've never gotten along. her name is lucy and she's horrible. blah blah blah nothing really happened in my childhood. i was boring. when i got older, my friendship with queenie got more complicated because we were less like friends and more like girlfriends. i dunno. i thought it was just all me until one day when we realized it was a two way street. i dunno, as i said, complicated. getting accepted into bouscher was really cool, it made me feel like ballet actually had a meaning. i do it for my mom and i always have. so to be making the steps to getting my career nearer to her level is amazing."

wow, that's interesting. can you tell me about how you found out about bouscher academy of the arts?

my dad showed me a brochure.
