Mattie's clothes are usually neat and in order unless he's home or it's the end of a long day. He can usually be found in a buttoned shirt with a nice pair of pants and a matching jacket. For a more casual look he prefers just a dark sweatrer and jeans.
personality *[/sub]
Mathis is an introvert in that he doesn't try to be the life of the party but he doesn't avoid social situations. He does like meeting new people and making friends but finding things to say isn't always easy. He doesn't like to rush through things unless it's an essay or something that needs to be done for school, otherwise he takes things slow and just goes along with things.
Mattie can be quite protective of those he cares about. He may be a pacifist and chose to avoid physical fights but he won't back down if someone he cares about is at risk of getting hurt.
He's generous and kind, almost to the point where it's a fault. He has a very hard time saying no to people and even when he manages to say no, it's often easy to manipulate or convince him to change his mind. Mathis usually does what he thinks is right. He has a few strong opinions but he usually keeps those to himself unless it is necessary to share them.
Mathis is very proper and polite. He has good manners and knows what is expected of him in certain situations. This comes from a lot of practice going to opening of new exibits at the museum or to charity events or even dinner parties at their house with a whole range of important guests.
One thing that Mathis is not, is arrogant. He doesn't let his wealth get to him or dictate how he behaves. He does not like to judge people based on what they have or don't have and he is never superficial or materialistic. He is the sort of person who will talk to just about anyone about anything and attempt to get along with them. Unfortuantely that doesn't always work out well.
a deeper perspective *[/sub][/i]
loves ,, wine, champagne, his family, giving back, helping others, his privacy (he keeps his personal life to himself but is open about being gay, he won't hide it but he doesn't go into detail either), chocolate deserts, sleeping in on the weekends, volunteering or helping in any way he can, non-profit organizations that help people, animals or the environment.
hates ,, too much pride, blatant snobbery or arrogance, people who don't appreciate what they have, beer, excessive partying, excessive drinking, hangovers, being judged, not finishing assignments on time (he'll get an extension if he really needs it but he won't hand it in late), most (but not all) reality tv shows, animal cruelty.
flaws ,, he has a hard time saying no to people (is sometimes too polite to say no), can't simply ignore it if someone needs help.
secrets ,, he keeps his wealth status a secret (one might know he's rich but not the extent of it), Mathis hides under the cover of being logical, methodical and studious but he's secretly a hopeless romantic.
fears ,, any violent situation (he's a lover not a fighter and running away is always a good option0, doing badly in his classes (that is just unexceptable and he simply refuses to have a bad grade on hsi records, he won't even tolerate a moderately good grade).
quirks ,, avoids eye contact when he has to tell a lie, or when he's uncomfortable in a particular situation (Usually it's more the latter than the former).

into the past *[/sub][/i]
Mathis was born in Limoux France. Life for him was easy and happy. His parents weren't always around because of their work but they did put a lot of effort into spending time with their children. When mathis was about three years old, his mother gave birth to twins, Ansel and Marguerite.
They lives on a large property with a large house and private vineyard out the back just for them and not to be sold. The company his father now owns was started many, many generations ago and sells a large quantity of the world's wine. However the ones that are made from the grapes on their estate is rare because it is not sold commercially. Instead it is often given as gifts (some ending up being sold for large amounts of money).
Mathis still remembers playing in the vineyard with Ansel and Marguerite. They were about three or four and he was about six or seven. They would play games like hide and seek etc or simply run around until they got tired or bored. They had a lot of fun until Mathis left when he was twelve to attended school. The twins were very sad when he first left but he did come back for holidays and breaks during school.
For most of his early life, mathis had private tutors and was essentially home schooled until he began attending a private all boys bording school in England at the age of thirteen. He enjoyed his time there and despite being introverted he made a few friends.
During this time Mathis had the chance to figure things out about his sexuality. He had a friend who seemed intent on experimenting at least and Mathis saw no reason not too when he was exceedingly curious about it himself.
Some years after joining that school, mathis left to start his first year at Bouscher Academy of the Arts. He is now in his third year at the school.
